As we’re moving toward the 2026 Mid-term Elections, there is a growing louder call every day for “Term Limits” for our elected officials. Having been directly involved in our government at every level, for now several decades, the last thing we need now is “Term Limits” for our elected officials, at every level of government. But, but, but…. are we not paying attention to the terrible things these long-time elected officials are doing to us? Yes we are, every day. But we must understand that “Term Limits” will end how We The People can effect the real operations of government. We’ll be glad to expound.
We have to go back to where this all started. The original design of our Republic was both brilliant and relatively simple. The majority of all direct governance was to be handled by and within each Sovereign State. And each State was responsible for the design and implementation of its internal operations. To compliment this design was the Federal Government, which was to ONLY deal with the specific Enumerated Powers specified in the Constitution. Unfortunately, this design began to be disassembled almost immediately after it was established. And what has grown out of this disassembly is truly toxic. And why we must not “Term Limit” elected officials. At least, not now.
We believe the most toxic, and dangerous, product of this disassembly are the virtually immeasurable, and unaccountable, bureaucracies, at EVERY level of government. And as time has gone on, many of these bureaucracies have developed a life of their own. Many have become the wholly-owned operational fiefdoms of their “senior” bureaucrats. And these bureaucrats are already training their replacement next generation. This is where we believe that the discussion of “Term Limits” should start. How about we make it that no person can hold a position in any government entity for more than 10 years? That would be a good start.
The next place we need to look at “Term Limits” is ALL Federal Court Judges. Anyone who has actually read and studied history, and the U.S. Constitution, knows that the whole “idea” of “lifetime appointments” is a fallacy. But we choose to be told something and just accept it as true. What it says in Article III, Section 1 is, “The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour”. And it should be that anytime a Judge rules in an Unconstitutional matter, they should be removed from the bench. And we also believe 10 years should be the “Term Limit” for ALL Judges. If a Federal Judge reaches his 10 year point, then the President at this time, should re-appoint him to his, or another, judicial seat. And then he must again pass Senate confirmation. His portfolio of decisions should be why he is, or isn’t, reappointed to a seat on the bench.
Now, once we have those 2 terms of services limited, maybe then we can talk about “Term Limits” for elected officials. But that order of action is critical to whether our government will be maintainable, or not. We’re at a point right now, that if we mess this up, the entrenched bureaucrats will have even more power than they already do. And our freedom, and this Republic, will be over.
God Bless America! And America, PLEASE Bless God Again!
