I know with everything happening concerning Hillary Clinton’s e-mails, the killing of Police Officers, islamic terror attacks around the world and the starting of the two weeks of National Political Conventions, there are things that get missed. Sometimes I have to wonder if our national government releases reports on critical situations with the intent of them not being covered or if it’s just how it works out? On June 30, 2016 the US Navy released the report on the illegal capture and detainment of two US Navy watercraft by the Iranian military. The details contained in this report are truly disturbing. I don’t know for sure, but if you read through the article at the above link and aren’t also disturbed I’ll be surprised. I am a hardcore supporter of the US Military. I want to believe that the United States military is the finest fighting force in existence. I don’t question the dedication of those who volunteer to serve in our military. But this situation, and the events surrounding it, has to be looked at in the bright light of day. Taken in view with other recent stories concerning our military readiness, this speaks volumes about the direction the Jarrett Administration is taking US where our national security is concerned. Or maybe NOT concerned is a better way to state it.
Less than six weeks ago, on the Jarrett Administration Ra-Ra supporter show “60 Minutes”, there was a report concerning the F-18 Fighter Squadron based at Beaufort Marine Air Station in Beaufort, SC. This particular squadron had ONLY 3 of its 16 aircraft that were flight worthy. The commander of the squadron said they were having to cannibalize display aircraft to get parts to keep their planes flying. What is happening to our military when they can’t be prepared for deployment due to not having parts? My friends, this is totally reminiscent of what our military looked like Circa 1980. I remember then we had planes and helicopters that couldn’t fly, ships that couldn’t sail, guns that couldn’t fire and a totally demoralized military. At least then we were still attempting to take care of our Veterans. This time around even that’s now been virtually abandoned.
How can this have happened? It has happened because those in positions of power and responsibility, at the highest levels of our national government, have chosen to abandon the single most important job they have, the defense and protection of the Citizens and Territory of the United States. As we have been racing to become this “Post-Constitutional Utopia”, that is unattainable through man, this core responsibility and duty, yes duty, have been abandoned. And this is not just a “Democrat” thing or “Republican” thing; this is a Bi-partisan Un-American thing. I say a pox on all their houses. I can only figure that there is only so much money to go around and to a politician, on either side of the aisle, making sure the projects and programs to support their donors are much more important than the defense of the Country and the care of our Veterans.
SHAMELESS, absolutely shameless, and just as it took 20+ years after the election of Ronald Reagan, it will take years, maybe even decades, for US to recover from where we are today. And only then if and when those in the national government are willing to make the hard choices to correct this. We are living in a world that is growing more dangerous everyday and at the same time we are less and less prepared to counter it. Much less defeat it. And for the survival of our Country, our Culture and Western Civilization as a whole, we better get prepared. Everything, and everybody in the civilized world, is dependent on US regaining our place as the World’s only remaining Superpower. I pray we have the commitment left to do so.
