Today, the Tuesday after Labor Day, is the traditional beginning of the campaign sprint headed into the next election. Following everything that has happened since the Presidential Selection in 2020, We The People must hope that working together, we have corrected the most blatant corruptions in our electoral processes. Fortunately, because elections are strictly State-controlled operations, correcting the underlying problems in election integrity isn’t a National issue, but an issue to be discussed and remedied in each State. As I’ve looked across the Country, one of the big problems is the maintenance and “cleaning” of the Voter Rolls, and the effect it has on mail-in Absentee Voting in its modern manifestation.
If you think about this from a simple operational standpoint, this all should be easy enough. The Citizen goes to their proper government office, and registers to vote in a reasonable period of time, PRIOR to the next election, so they can be added to the list of eligible voters. Prior to the election, a database/list of all eligible voters is uploaded to the elections’ records system, and provided to the poll workers in every polling place, where ballots can be cast by the eligible voters. The voter shows up at the polling place, provides a proper means of identification and is issued the proper ballot. The voter then marks their ballot and places their ballot in the tabulator where their vote is recorded. The totals of all voters’ votes are then tallied and the winners are the candidates or referenda that receive the most votes. And in this day of secure data acquisition and transmission, this should be done with minimal effort and fairly rapid results. It really shouldn’t be that hard or that complicated. So, why does it seem to be that it isn’t done that easily?
Then 2020 happened, and all of this was moved to the side to “accommodate” the safety concerns of the “Wuhan Flu”. For safety’s sake, we had to try to avoid any situation that could cause people to violate “social distancing protocols”. So the push immediately moved to radically expand mail-in/absentee voting. In several States they chose to just mail “live” ballots to every name on their current voter rolls. What could go wrong? Well, first, how many of the voters on the rolls have moved since they registered? Understand that “live” ballots were mailed to the “Address of Registration” of every voter in their State, so who’s to say how many people just received the ballot for someone else? Despite the “there’s no real voter fraud” screams from the Progressives, how many of these ballots were voted, and mailed in, and/or delivered to a “drop box”, by whoever the current resident at the address is? We’ll never know.
We hope that States, through their State Legislatures, have been doing their job to clean this up. I know in several States they’ve established new controls on mail-in absentee voting. We believe that NO official election material should ever be mailed from the Election Officials, to any voter, unless specifically requested by the voter, FOR EVERY ELECTION CYCLE. It should be made illegal for third party activists to blanket mail “Absentee Ballot Request Forms” to their “selected” potential voters. Then we must reinstate all of the traditional “safety” guard-rails for mail-in absentee voting. We must return to having ALL Absentee Ballots PROPERLY witnessed before submission. We must have “signature verification” of every Absentee Ballot, by whatever method established by the State Legislators. And we must make the practice of “ballot harvesting” a felony, with mandatory prison time. Seriously, in our Republic, is there a more egregious crime than participating in the corrupting of our elections?
I understand this is just the starting point for We The People to regain our proper control over our elections, but we all know that the longest journey begins with a single step. I also hope that you, as a U.S. Citizen, will take it seriously and show up to make a difference. Please signup and be trained as an Election Judge or a Poll Observer. Or volunteer to assist fellow Citizens get to the polls. Or just remind your like-minded family, friends and neighbors to get out and vote. We The People must make the difference to protect this Grand Experiment that is the United States of America.
