So, I’m watching Laura Ingraham interview House Member Jim Banks (R-03-IN) this evening. And they’re bitching back and forth about how so many National Government officials and employees, haven’t gone “back to work” in D.C. full-time, since the start of the COVID-19 Plandemic. And how Congress will be in Session even less time next year than this year. Can anybody tell me a single reason why this is a bad thing?
They were upset that so many of these National Government employees and Members of Congress were still getting their full salaries, even if they’re only “working” part-time. And again I have to ask, “can anybody tell me a single reason why this is a bad thing”? If you can, then you are just totally clueless to what the real problem with government, particularly the National Government, truly is.
In a discussion like this, I always fall back on my two absolutes of government, 1) Government doesn’t do anything well. And 2) What government does best it does very poorly. And then a very smart friend, and member of the North Carolina General Assembly, gave me absolute of government #3) The higher level of government that gets involved, the worse they will screw things up.
Now, with understanding these absolutes, that the last 50 years have totally proven to be true, could this be the next great gift of the “Laws of Unintended Consequences” of COVID-19? The less time the Members of Congress, and maybe even more so, the Congressional staffers and career bureaucrats, are in D. C., the less damage they, and their lobbyists friends, can do to our Country, and our Society. Paying their full salaries to keep them at home could be the least expensive costs We The People will incur.
I have been saying for years it would be much more important that We The People had full-time Legislators, and operational employees, at the State level. And that we needed to turn the National Government, in ALL of its entities, into “down-sized” part-time operations, as outlined in our National Constitution, We The People might start to regain our Republic. Just think about how much better We would be?
