Editor’s note: I wrote this 7+ years ago, October 7, 2016, and came across it as I was doing some site maintenance and I felt compelled to republish it. We were moving forward until 2021 and now, with our Country under full invasion, we’ve now reverted back beyond, negatively, what I wrote about in the fall of 2016. Sorry, no happy talk, just a clear view of where we are.
Definition: Holocaust- noun: a thorough destruction involving extensive loss of life especially through fire. Genocide.
As a child of the 60s, who lived through Soviet nuclear attack drills as an elementary school student, it scares me to admit, I believe we are now preparing for the potential of the new holocaust from within. And I believe this version is much scarier than the previous one. I just saw a neat commercial from a new-age bunker company. Their business is providing “secure and protected facilities to protect you and your families.” I’m old enough to remember a time when people in this Country were building “secure and protected facilities to protect you and your families.” And we were putting bottled water and canned food in them for extended survival purposes. We called them fallout shelters. They were being built for the purpose of surviving the aftermath of a nuclear attack from our adversary, the Soviet Union, “the deniers of God, oppressors of Liberty and the promoters of Communism and tyranny.”
Fast-forward 50 years. Today, We The People are doing the same thing all over again. In this Country we’re building “secure and protected facilities to protect you and your families.” Except this time, we’re doing it to be prepared for the aftermath of a collapse or an attack from within. We have reached a point where we are building our bunkers to protect ourselves from our fellow Citizens or residents or at the very worst, our very own government, who have become “the deniers of God, oppressors of Liberty and the promoters of Communism and tyranny.” The one big difference is that in the 60s it didn’t seem to be an imperative to stockpile ammo and firearms like it does today, and that difference says a whole lot about where we are as a Country, and a Culture.
And I’m personally rather embarrassed to admit that it is my generation who truthfully are the most to blame for this total perversion of who and what we are, or have become. How have we let this happen? FD&H. Fat, dumb and happy. Sorry if that offends, but it is the truth. And understand, I’m blaming myself, and my fellow baby boomers, as much as or more than ANYBODY else. We have taken our lives and our success for granted and didn’t really pay attention to what it was that our politicians, and their bureaucrats, were doing to and with our government. We lost a belief in, and the ability to recognize, that true evil dwelled and dwells among US at all times. We placed trusts in way too many that were not worthy of our trust because of this evil in our midst. They were able to convince enough of US that they were not who they were and/or are. But the real fault lies with US because we were given the freedom and the free will to make critical decisions, and we just weren’t really good decision makers. Or there were just too many of US who chose not to participate in the decisions at all.
We must understand that this kind of potential situation wasn’t even anywhere in the thought process of my grandparents, and at least not until late in their lives, my parents, because the love of God, and of the Family, and of our Country, was so much more important to them than their own comfort and ease of life. We must remember we are less than 90 years from the time where many of our fellow Citizens stood in bread lines and were willing to do whatever was required to support those for whom they were RESPONSIBLE to provide care. We have just become too damned FD&H. We have now produced 2+ generations of way too many over-educated, under intelligent, under productive, low initiative and useless residents of this great Country. And I say residents and not Citizens because even though many of the fore described and mentioned are Citizens, they have no concept of the gift or the value of being a United States Citizen. Now I’m sure this is a major cause of the underlying problem. What say you? The new holocaust may be near and you need to be prepared. Particularly if you don’t or can’t have a bunker.
