Bully- (verb)- use superior strength or influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force him or her to do what one wants.
So for the last dozen+ years we have been constantly told of the societal dangers of bullying and how it must be stopped. Now, the North Carolina General Assembly has passed a valuable anti-discrimination bill. And those who used to rail against bullying, the LGBTQ community, are perfectly comfortable bullying the Citizens in the State of North Carolina for their standing against sexual discrimination. And it’s time for We The People to declare “NO more!”
This “controversial” bill makes it explicitly clear that the vast majority of residents of the State of North Carolina, and those who visit the State, will not be subject to their traditional values being discriminated against. Because of this action by the NC General Assembly, the entire former “anti-bullying” crowd believes it is justified in bullying our State. It must be recognized that this is an all out assault on the State, and its residents, by those who believe they are the most “tolerant” and “inclusive” among US. Really?
They have called out all of their high-powered corporate and government “friends” to threaten those in the State of North Carolina. Their statements are that if you don’t repeal this anti-discrimination bill and subvert the will of the vast majority of your residents, we will economically punish you. And we will do everything we can to assault and destroy your State, any way we can. Not to mention, embarrass you in the court of public opinion all across the Nation and the World. What they are really saying is, “WE WILL BULLY YOU IN TO SUBMISSION!” Sure sounds tolerant to me, how about you?
Now, who are the bullies and why do they have power? They call themselves the “Human Rights Campaign” www.hrc.org and they campaign for the human rights of, I’ll be generous, <5% of the US population. At the same time, they campaign AGAINST the traditional rights of ~95% of the US population. From their website, this is who they say they are “The Human Rights Campaign represents a force of more than 1.5 million members and supporters nationwide.” So they tell you right up front that they “represent a force.” Why do they have power? They have power because they have assembled a collection of corporations- http://www.hrc.org/hrc-story/corporate-partners who I can only guess value their “image” and bottom line, more than they value the “Silent Majority” in the Country.
They also have power the same way any of the other “militant” organizations in our Country do, through intimidation and lawfare against any and all that believe in and/or practice the traditional Values and Principles on which our Culture, our Society and our Country are founded. For lack of a better term, we’ll use one they seem to think they own, they BULLY our civil Society in to submission. They are a major player in every one of the “gender bender” issues and initiatives in the Country today. Whether it’s gay “marriage”, or removing gender identity in toy departments, or the expansion of protections for “transgender” children, to their latest major initiative, anybody bathrooms.
This is why they are now bullying the VAST majority of North Carolina residents. Because that VAST majority of residents know which bathroom to use and in turn, their elected representatives chose to draw that line in the sand and dared to pass a biology-based anti-discrimination law. To the bullies at the HRC, biology and science must not be considered in the making of law because it might offend the feelings of <5% of the population. And if you don’t understand that the feelings of the few, are much more important than the values AND safety of the VAST majority, you are the problem. And they must bully you in to submission.
So what do we do now? First, if you live in a NC State House and/or Senate District that is represented by a brave individual who voted for HB2, please call their office and thank them. I can assure you that they are getting hate calls from all across the Country telling them how evil and hating they are. And if your Senator or House Member didn’t support HB2, you might want to call and respectfully express your disapproval of their actions. Second, I would suggest you look at their list of corporate sponsors, and if at all possible, refrain from doing business with them. And call them to let them know why you are not doing business with them anymore. Oh, and when you find one of their competitors to do business with, please take a minute to call and let them know too. Positive reinforcement is never rejected.
And third, and most important, pray. It’s time that We The People quit being the “Silent Majority” and get VOCAL. Our Society and our Culture are at stake.
