Subtitle- What happens when you are a State that flips from Blue to Red.
As I covered in the Minuteman’s Minute on Tuesday, the people of North Carolina over the last 5+ years have made the decision to return to sanity in government and the national government didn’t like it. So starting in 2013 they began to use whatever means at their disposal to punish the State of North Carolina, and in turn the Citizens residing there in. In most cases where the Department of Justice gets involved in legal matters against a State it is normally in support of a group of Citizens or residents who file a suit. But with the rogue actions of the State of North Carolina so glaring, the DoJ directly attacked NC.
Here is the headline from the DoJ’s statement concerning the Voting Reform Bill passed in 2013 by the North Carolina General Assembly, “Justice Department to File Lawsuit Against the State of North Carolina to Stop Discriminatory Changes to Voting Law”. The complete statement can be seen here- https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-file-lawsuit-against-state-north-carolina-stop-discriminatory-changes What’s interesting is that every provision that this bill “rolled back” was put in place in the previous decade by the then Democrat majority as they tried to keep expanding the “voting rights” of all “citizens” for the purpose of keeping control. Once the Citizens overcame all of this and elected a Republican majority, who then took action to correct these questionable provisions, the national government had to step in and attempt to slap down the new majority. The one new provision included in the State Bill was a “Voter Photo ID” requirement, which the DoJ included in its complaint. Now just recently after more than 30 months of litigation and millions of dollars wasted, the whole Voting Reform Bill has been upheld in Court. They’ll probably appeal again.
Then the Department of Defense needed to be mobilized in the retribution by announcing the shuttering of the 440th Air Lift Wing out of Pope Army Airfield. Now this seems like a really foolish plan considering that the 440th is the Air Wing used in the training and transport of the Rapid Deployment Special Forces Ops. Which just happen to be based at Fort Bragg, which is adjacent to Pope. What a great idea, Rapid Deployment Forces with no aircraft on site for training our elite Warriors or to move them to the locations of their overseas deployment aircraft. Are you kidding me? Oh, that’s right, they are located in North Carolina. Even better is that Sen. Tillis, who they threw truckloads of money at and lost, is on the Armed Services Committee and this will show him up too!
Now let’s get to Congressional Redistricting. As I mentioned in Tuesday’s post, the new Republican Majority in the General Assembly, in 2011 drew the first State and National Legislative Districts, since the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which were not challenged by the DoJ in Court. But that wasn’t the end because the DoJ assisted several groups of “average” Citizens in their lawsuit challenging the Redistricting. After twice being heard, and then the maps being approved, by the NC State Supreme Court, a three judge Federal Court Panel in February 2016 ruled that the Congressional Districts were flawed and must be redrawn prior to the current election, even though absentee voting had already begun in the primary. I’m just guessing, but I’m pretty sure the national government, at least those operatives of the Jarrett Administration, has taken great joy in the disruption, and the added financial expense incurred by the State of North Carolina caused by this ruling.
And now we’re in the throws of the current full-court press of retribution, being publicly led by the Attorney General herself, the dishonorable Loretta Lynch, against the whole of North Carolina’s public education industry. I can only guess that Ms. Lynch skipped Biology class on her way to Law School. But what the hey, you know that whole chromosome thing is just a theory according to those really smart organizations like the American Psychology Association. The whole point is that the Jarrett Administration can force the State of North Carolina to spend millions of State Taxpayer dollars defending itself from the national government’s assault on our children’s bathrooms.
Please understand these are just four of the pieces of this assault. I hope that one of the groups who does financial government analyses, like Civitas or John Locke, will look in to what all of these unjustified actions against North Carolina have actually cost the good Citizens in NC. Sadly, I doubt if this administration intend to stop, because it’s just what a thugocracy does.
God Bless America! And America, Please Bless God Again!
