Subtitle: How North Carolina became the State in the crosshairs of the full-force of the national government.
The true picture of the legacy of the Jarrett Administration and the Chicago Thugocracy will be the direct retribution by the national government and the “DC Crowd” against any State that dares to stand. As a Citizen living in the State of North Carolina, I have watched this happen first hand at an accelerated rate over the last 4 years. The abuses that are being directed against the States in general, and North Carolina in particular, by the national government courts and bureaucracies are blatant and illegal. We are seeing our national government act like the enforcers for a tinhorn dictator.
Those of us living in the State of North Carolina have seen this attack up close. Up until the 2010 elections, the State of North Carolina was rarely subject to this retributive abuse by the national government. For years we had been the Progressives’ lone standing oasis in the Conservative desert that was the Southeastern United States. Then in 2010, as far as the Jarrett Thugocracy was concerned, we went full bore crazy and turned our State Legislature from blue to red. How dare We The People of North Carolina commit such lunacy? And how did we do it in Democrat-drawn gerrymandered districts? What might happen next?
Well, good things for the people of the State of North Carolina started to happen. However, what was good for the people of the State was also bad for the controllers in the national government. Such as? Well, first, because the Republicans won in 2010, they were now in charge of redrawing ALL of the legislative districts in the State, both State and National. And ALL of the districts drawn by the new Republican-directed legislative committee were pre-cleared as correct and legal by the Holder Justice Dept. This was the first time districts drawn in NC since the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 were not challenged in court by the national government. Then they decided to legitimately balance the State Budget. Then they decided to end the 99-week unemployment hammock. Oh, and to also reduce how much they were paying people to spend their shorter time in the hammock. The Progressives were getting really steamed that their “Utopian Oasis” in the South was going off the rails.
Then 2012 happened and the heresy exploded. North Carolina was the ONLY “Swing State” that voted against Obama. NC elected a Republican Governor, Lt. Governor and expanded the majorities in the General Assembly to super-majorities in both Chambers, and elected Republicans to 10 of our now 13 Seats in the US Congress. Oh, and we passed a State Constitutional Amendment that made marriage ONLY between one man and one woman the only recognized union in the State. You could hear the sound of heads exploding all over DC about what was happening in NC. And the Thugocracy was getting their attack machine started up to show “those people” in NC that they must be punished.
What did the North Carolina General Assembly do with these new powers and majorities? They passed a sweeping Voting Reform Act that rolled back much of the liberalization, and the opportunity for mischief, of elections in the State the Progressives had put in place over the previous decade. This included a Voter ID requirement, as well as requiring people to actually vote in the Precinct where they live. They passed a sweeping Gun Rights Act that allowed Citizens to possess their guns in most parks and public recreation areas, in restaurants and businesses that didn’t restrict it. They passed a second major Regulatory Reform Act that stood in the way of the national government abusing NC businesses. They also passed major Pro-Life legislation that forced abortion providers to start operating like actual medical facilities. The national government was not happy at all with these actions.
Then the 2014 election happened and it was on. The Jarrett Administration and all of their allies decided that protecting their liberal darling, Senator Kay Hagan was their top priority in the 2014 election. The national Democrat Party pulled out all of the stops and turned the 2014 NC US Senate race in to the most expensive US Senate race in history. So, what happened? Well, those crazy people in North Carolina chose to replace Sen. Kay Hagan with the Speaker of the North Carolina House, Thom Tillis, who had led the North Carolina General Assembly in many of the previously mentioned reforms, in spite of the Democrats spending millions to save Hagan. Now you know the history, we’ll get in to the specifics on the retribution in this Friday’s Minuteman’s Minute.
God Bless America! And America, Bless God Again!
