We have just seen the manipulation of manufactured faux racism take another trophy in the Culture War. This time, it happened right in the heart of Middle America “Fly Over Country”, Columbia, Missouri. With the gutless resignation of University of Missouri President, Tim Wolff, caused by elevating thuggish behavior and mob rule. And NOBODY is apparently aware that the back-story of this has nothing to do with racism.
(NOTE: We in no way deny that racism exist in our Country and in all Society, but the use of it, in a manufactured form, as a weapon, is worse than racism itself.)
This whole ugly episode is the handiwork of a graduate student by the name of Jonathan Butler. And this all started with a list of demands by Butler for enhancing the experience for Graduate Assistants employed by the University. Has ANYBODY seen this reported anywhere?
From the “Maneater”- The University of Missouri independent campus “newspaper”-
Issued on Aug. 19, 2015 the Forum on Graduate Rights gave administrators six days to put forth a plan addressing their demands.
That initial release said graduate students would walk out at noon Aug. 26. A later release called for an all-day walk out.
The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., and students will rally at the Columns from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
According to the release, their demands were as follows:
— A guarantee that no graduate student employee be paid at a rate below the individual poverty line regardless of their appointment status, department or college.
— A guarantee that all graduate student employees receive full tuition waivers, regardless of their full-time equivalent appointment.
— Revised Aug. 22: a fully-subsidized student health care plan for all graduate student employees that is guaranteed for the full term of their graduate student employment.
— Immediate action on the part of the university to ease the burden on international students caused by the loss of their health insurance subsidy.
— More and affordable university-sponsored graduate student housing.
— A return of affordable, on-campus, university-sponsored childcare facilities for graduate students.
— Revised Aug. 22: A waiver of supplemental fees imposed by colleges, schools and departments for all graduate student employees. (End of copy)
Does anything in this mention racism? Do you see anything about the Ferguson “events”? Me neither. So how did this turn in to a “black people versus the oppression of the man” situation? I can’t say for sure, but I’m betting if you search Graduate Student Jonathan Butler’s residence, you’ll find a copy of Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals”. This is a near perfect execution of Rule# 12- ““Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)”
The community organizer, Mr. Butler, put his total focus on the inaction of the University President in his response to the manufactured faux racism he refused to address on campus. The only documented “racist” event I’ve been able to find was that an “inebriated” student decided to spew a bunch of racial slurs at a black student. And the “inebriated” student was removed from the campus.
But then Mr. Butler, who was now on a ‘hunger strike’ because ‘life is not livable on this racist campus’, again focusing on President Wolff, started to push that this was because of the President’s refusal to issue a “statement” concerning the Ferguson situation, proving by inference, that there was an “institutional racism” problem on campus because of the President’s inaction. (Note: Mr. Butler and several of his “friends” made a pilgrimage to Ferguson to participate in the riots, I mean protest.)
Then this past weekend, it went to a whole new level when ~30 Black members of the Mizzou football team threatened to boycott the rest of the season unless the President resigned and the University addressed a list of demands originally crafted by the League of Black Collegians from 1969. Well if you threaten the football program, then the President has to go.
And yesterday, he did resign. And he never mentioned the Graduate Assistant’s demands. I wonder why.
And another battle is lost in the Culture War for America’s Soul. To a Community Organizer.
God Bless America! And America, Please Bless God Again!
