Every since November 9, 2016 after the “surprise” election of President Donald J. Trump, all we’ve been hearing from the “news” media and the Democrats (yes, I know that is redundant) is, “You just wait until 2018 when the ‘great blue wave’ election will sweep the Democrats back in to control of Congress”. Really? Then they say, “Look at the ‘generic ballots’ all across the fruited plain and Democrats are thrashing almost every Republican where polls are being taken.” Well, I don’t know about you, but I’ve never voted for the candidate named “generic” on the ballot at my precinct. I’m starting to think that all the hysteria of the “Great Blue Wave” is looking like one of those false tsunami alerts.
So, what happened? Well, it started with two simple words “Trump happened”. And to the chagrin of the Liberals, Progressives and Communists who now possess the Democrat Party, the US Citizens are pretty damned happy about what has happened to THEIR Country because of President Trump. As hard as the Democrats’ foot-soldier allies in the “news” media have worked to downplay and hide every winning moment in the Trump Presidency, the US Citizens are enjoying all the winning they’re not seeing happen.
What else happened? Well, in two other words, “Democrats happened”. What would I mean by that? Can you say “Maxine Waters”? Can you say “Chuck Schumer”? Can you say “Nancy Pelosi”? Can you say “Cory Booker”? Can you say “Dick Durbin”? Can you say “Kamala Harris”? Or any other in the long list of anti-American poster children serving as Democrat politicians? I believe what “happened” is these Democrat politicians actually believed the anti-Trump hype that their echo-chamber “news” media was feeding them and they just couldn’t help but add their comments.
Then, as the confirmation process of a new Associate Justice on the Supreme Court, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, happened. In what can only be described as a truly partisan ambush, the Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Diane Feinstein, played the “attempted rape” card. And the floodgates of anti-Democrat disgust were opened. For the last two weeks we have watched the vilest partisan Democrat smear of a Supreme Court nominee ever. This made the “Borking” of lore look like a class picnic. I believe this has backfired all over the Democrats. And the Republicans united and confirmed Justice Kavanaugh. It appears this could be the spark needed to light the fire of unity under a previously fractured Republican Party.
Has anybody looked at what is happening with those “generic ballots” since start of this ambush? Well, I have, and the “Great Blue Wave” has become less than a ripple. In most recent polling, the “generic ballots” in many expected contested House Districts are shown now as being toss-ups. And in the 25 Senate Seats that the Democrats have to defend in 2018, more than a 3rd are in States that President Trump won handily. Hmmm. Could it be the “Great Blue Wave” actually is going out to sea?
In closing, we know that history shows that the Republican Party has the ability for “ripping defeat from the jaws of victory”, but they have never had a President Donald J. Trump leading the Party in to such a historic Mid-term election. And he’s not known for having that talent. Oh, and the Democrats and the “news” media are continuing to show a whole new level of “tone-deafness” that we haven’t seen in politics in my lifetime. Let’s just hope that this allows the “Great Blue Wave” to turn in to a “Red Tide” that continues to Make America Great Again!
