Friday, November 21, I was listening to “The Pete Kaliner Show” on WBT radio (https://wbt.com/schedule/the-pete-kaliner-show/) and he was reporting on a U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee hearing held the previous Thursday. Testifying before the Committee was Sheriff Roy Boyd from Goliad County, Texas, and he was explaining the new “Business Model” of the Mexican drug cartels. And it was truly frightening! (As a side note, I want to let it be known up front that the Democrats on the Committee chose to boycott the hearing. And after hearing the testimony from the Sheriff, I think I know why.)
In a nut-shell, the Cartels are now operating a well-oiled machine all across the Country, and they are exposing how our current law enforcement design is being a totally ineffective operation. And in our opinion, what the Cartels are doing today, makes anything the Mafia ever did look like a bunch of two-bit amateurs. They’re incorporating human trafficking, long-term indentured servitude, sophisticated logistic design and franchise-model distribution. And in many cases, using U.S.-based non-profit organizations, with National Government grants financing their resistance efforts.
So, how does this work? Well first, the Mexican Government (and yes, the Mexican government is a direct operator in this machine) assures that their cartel friends have routes of operation to the U.S. border. Then the cartels use people wanting entry into the U.S. to work as drug mules that move some materials into the Country. Now, these two pieces have been pretty standard for decades. Where the business model has changed is once the cartels get these people in the Country, they then move them all around the Country, where they work as distribution and logistics couriers. (Remember “Maryland man) Then these people are “owned” by the cartels for 8-15 years to pay off what they owe the cartels for getting them into the Country. And if they try to get away from the “job”, the cartels will eliminate them, and their families back home.
But there’s another new piece that you’re helping finance which is the non-profit “alien rights” groups, who provide interference/cover that protects the illegal invader couriers from I.C.E. and C.B.P. deportation operations. As reported in the podcast, these groups are receiving millions in National and State Government grants over the last year, at least. At least one of these was even documented to be operating in Charlotte last week. Yes, that’s right, your tax dollars are helping finance the operations who are disrupting C.B.P. officers being able to do their work to clean up your communities.
We believe it’s time for a “Manhattan Project” level project to turn this program around. We need an “all-in” action from the IRS to eliminate the non-profit status of these interference groups. We need to incentivize local government to elevate their levels of participation in the 287(g) program to its highest level, to accelerate the apprehension and removal of the on the ground operators. And We The People, the U.S. Citizens, must activate and demand these actions. I have to wonder if we’re willing to make a difference.
