At an educational conference this past Saturday, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Critical Race Theory (CRT) were two of the main topics. I wrote the following blog over 6 years ago, and there is still NOBODY seriously looking in to the subject of it. I contend that Common Core was the previous “shiny thing”, and now SEL and CRT are just the newest “shiny things”, to keep people from paying attention to where the real “grooming” of the next generation of Marxists is happening, Advanced Placement Curricula. NOTE: total number of AP tests given in 2020 was 4,751,957, and the average cost per exam is now $96. So, on top of the “grooming” effect, just the AP Exam fees alone generated ~$455,000,000 of taxpayer revenue for the College Board!

COMMON CORE- THE GRAND DECOY!
I was privileged to attend the Civitas Institute 2016 Conservative Leadership Conference this past weekend. First, I would like to congratulate the whole Civitas organization, www.Civitas.org, on another splendid event. I would recommend to anybody reading this that you plan to attend next year. They put together a great lineup of speakers and breakout session presenters. One of those presenters, Dr. Stanley Kurtz, pulled back the curtain on The College Board and their sinister plan to complete the leftist corruption of our public education industry.
For the last 4+ years there has been a growing revolt against the Common Core State Standards across the Country. It has been because an army of parents, grandparents and activists of many different stripes finally woke up to what the national government has been doing to each of the next generations through the public education industry. Since Lyndon B. Johnson signed in to Law the original Elementary and Secondary Education Act in 1965, the institutional Educrats have been continually assaulting our Society, with our own tax dollars. Then in 2009 they rolled out Common Core and they “Jumped the shark” and awakened the Sleeping Giant. It has been “game on” constantly every since. Then Saturday, Dr. Kurtz exposed that Common Core IS the Grand Decoy.
With a presentation titled “A Leftist Curriculum? It’s Already Here”, Dr. Kurtz exposed how The College Board, a taxpayer financed monopoly, is stealthily instituting their leftist agenda, not through Common Core, but through the plethora of Advanced Placement (AP) courses they have been steadily rolling out over the last decade+. The AP program actually goes all the way back to the end of World War II when the Ford Foundation created a fund that supported committees studying education. The College Board has been running the AP program since 1955. There has been a steady expansion every since, growing most rapidly over the last decade. How much has it grown? In 2006, approximately 1 million students took ~2 million AP tests. In 2014 there were 4,135,000+ tests taken Nationwide. And there are now 37 different courses/tests available. Common Core? Just Math and English Language Arts. Who actually knew?
Then there’s the financial side of the “equation”. As of 2015 the standard cost of an AP Exam was $91. The math says that just the AP Exam fees alone potentially generated $375,000,000+ for the College Board. I wish I could give you more specifics on the financials of the College Board, but through multiple searches, I have not been able to find an actual annual finances report on this “Non-profit” corporation. I wonder why this is? Needless to say, the College Board is the recipient of millions in taxpayer dollars, used to expand their left-leaning indoctrination of the next generation. Again, who knew?
It is just mind-boggling how many pieces of the leftists’ agenda are operating right out there in plain sight. Whether it’s in the arena of Regional governance, or healthcare, or environmental policy the march to the socialist utopia is accelerating. It’s time we realize that through poisoning the minds of the next generations through our, or their, education industry, the destruction of our Culture and our Society, will be hastened.
